Hello Friends!

I'm Heidi. I married my complete opposite and then we adopted. Twice.

​

I’m an adoptive mom who became a sudden special needs Mom. We had no idea how our lives would change when our son was diagnosed with multiple special needs just months after arriving home. He was initially given four diagnoses, more followed. Six years later, we had no idea we’d decide to adopt again.

​

I have a heart for the special needs parent. As I began my own journey as a special needs parent I felt a strong desire for community, understanding, and relatability. I want you to know you aren’t the only one hiding in the closet after a seizure, a bad day, a new diagnosis, or ___________ (you fill in the blank).

 

I dream of inspiring and giving hope to you when you need it the most. If you aren’t a special needs parent, I want you to read the good and the bad. The detours we’ve taken? They’ve taken us to some of the grandest places I’ve ever known.

I decided a long time ago to stop sugar-coating this life we live.
